ALA Alumni & Friends Reception

Anaheim was filled with librarians for the annual ALA Conference in June. The iSchool was well-represented with alumni, students, and faculty featured in a variety of sessions.

But the most fun event of the weekend was our Alumni & Friends Reception at the House of Blues. Attendees won Nancy Pearl librarian action figures (with shushing action!) and movies featuring librarians (Party Girl, and next year’s Movie Night feature Desk Set), and got free library-themed temporary tattoos. It was all very rock and roll!

We’ll be posting more reception photos on the iSchool Facebook page shortly. Come find yourself or your friends!

Congratulations, New Graduates!

Over 200 students walked across the stage at Meany Hall on June 13, graduating from the Information School and becoming the newest members of our alumni community.

The Convocation ceremony was preceded by a reception on Red Square for graduates, friends and family as well as faculty and staff. Those of us who braved the chilly day and gray skies (in Seattle?!?) were treated to espresso, cake, and music from the Mosaic Brass Quintet.
